Paving Service Company SEO Case Study:
2025–2026 Performance Review
Over a six-month off-season period in the paving industry, IIM launched a targeted SEO campaign designed to significantly increase search visibility and lead generation for the 2026 season. The impact on search was substantial, the client grew from just 19 first-page rankings on Google to 85 top-five positions in under six months, demonstrating the power of a strategic, data-driven approach to SEO.
The Challenge
The challenge was clear from the outset. After launching a new website in mid-2025, the client had little to no presence in Google search results, both organically and locally. To address this, IIM implemented a comprehensive SEO strategy that included on-site optimization, off-site efforts, and a focused campaign to build domain authority through high-quality backlinks and strategic content development.
- A newly launched website with minimal to no presence in Google search results.
- A lack of structured content and authoritative backlinks created an immediate need for optimization to accelerate Google visibility and search performance.
- The website had little to no domain authority, supported by only a small number of backlinks from high-authority sources.
The Strategy
With only six months before peak season, IIM executed a focused, high-impact SEO strategy for a Lake County paving and asphalt client designed to deliver fast gains in visibility, authority, and lead generation. The approach prioritized the fundamentals that move rankings quickly, starting with a full technical and on-site optimization to ensure the new website was properly indexed, fast-loading, and aligned with high-intent keywords. Core service pages were rebuilt and expanded with structured, keyword-rich content targeting commercial and local paving searches to capture immediate demand.
At the same time, IIM aggressively built authority through a targeted backlink campaign, securing high-quality links from relevant and reputable websites to strengthen domain credibility. This was paired with consistent content development, publishing optimized pages and supporting content to expand keyword reach and reinforce topical relevance. Local SEO was also a key focus, including optimizing Google Business profiles and building local citations to improve map pack visibility. By combining technical fixes, content expansion, and authority building in a compressed timeline, the strategy was designed to accelerate rankings and drive measurable results before the busy season began.
Technical SEO Improvements
The first step in the new SEO campaign was optimizing on-page metadata, including title tags, meta descriptions, alt text, and H1 tags to improve search visibility and relevance.
Content Expansion
Creating and optimizing website content was a critical component of the SEO strategy. Each page required fresh, high-quality copy, carefully structured with targeted keyword usage to strengthen overall page relevance.
On-Page Optimization
From internal linking structure to site speed, there were significant opportunities to optimize the new site for stronger performance in Google’s local search results. These improvements will help enhance visibility, increase local rankings, and drive more qualified traffic.
Authority Building & Link Signals
Building site authority has become a critical component of every SEO campaign, as it not only boosts Google visibility but also enhances performance in AI-driven search results. This campaign includes a monthly strategy of acquiring high-quality backlinks to steadily strengthen the website’s authority and credibility.
